Private Reference, Not a Records Office. Lafayette Residents Directory does not answer identity questions, confirm who lives at an address, retrieve records, certify copies, or remove a name from a roll. Those tasks belong to the office that keeps the record. For an emergency, call 911. If you believe you are being stalked or harassed, contact local police.

Route a Lafayette Record Request

Choose the record type first. Lafayette municipal files and Contra Costa County records do not share one counter, and a postal Lafayette address does not by itself decide which government holds a file.

  • Who owns or appears along a street: use By Street for the address-to-parcel route.
  • Older directory volumes and past households: use City Directories and Past Residents.
  • One person or a record trail: use Resident Lookup.
  • Postal reach or nearby parcels: use ZIP Directory or Find Neighbors.
  • Records not available online: make a written request under the California Public Records Act, Government Code ยงยง7920.000 et seq., to the named custodian.

City Clerk, City of Lafayette. Municipal public-record requests go to 3675 Mount Diablo Boulevard, Suite 210, Lafayette, CA 94549. Call 925-284-1968 or email cityhall@lovelafayette.org. The official public-records request page is the best place to check the current submission route.

Deeds, liens, maps, and related county filings are held by the Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder at 555 Escobar Street, Martinez. Assessment questions go to the Assessor at 2530 Arnold Drive, Suite 100, Martinez, 925-313-7400. Court records are handled at the Wakefield Taylor Courthouse, 725 Court Street Room 103, Martinez, 925-608-1000.

For a private-reference correction or a broken link, use the contact route on this page. That route can receive questions about the directory's descriptions; it cannot identify a person, confirm occupancy, or answer an identity question.
